Modern culture is conscious of image and appreciative of youthfulness. The attractiveness of one’s smile is more important than ever. Thankfully, people also have more control over their appearances than ever. A skilled cosmetic dentist can accomplish anything from discreetly removing a few minor flaws to completely transforming your smile. If you are wondering where to find such a dentist near Mebane, Durham, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Eden, Reidsville, or Charlotte, the answer is Triad Dentistry, conveniently located in Greensboro, NC.

In keeping with our commitment to excellence, we have chosen to use KöR, which is widely considered the premier whitening system. It does not need laser or other light activation, which can dehydrate tooth enamel. Instead, KöR uses a powerful, proprietary formula that permeates enamel to break up deep stains. It also contains ingredients that help prevent tooth sensitivity.
KöR begins with in-office treatment, which yields exceptional results. However, that is just the beginning. Full KöR treatment includes the additional step of daily whitening with custom made take-home trays until desired brightness is achieved. Lastly, it restores enamel permeability to optimize effectiveness of future treatments. That means you can maintain youthful whiteness permanently with occasional touch-ups.

A veneer is a thin layer of cosmetic dental material that covers the visible part of the tooth, effectively transforming its appearance. Our veneers are made from high quality porcelain, for optimal strength and beauty.
The procedure is fast and conservative. It begins with tooth preparation, which is minimal due to the thinness of veneers. Impressions and other records are taken and sent to the dental laboratory. When the veneers are ready, the final step is affixing them to teeth. On average, the process only takes a week or two, and a few appointments.

The procedure takes just one appointment and little, if any, tooth preparation. The area to be treated is thoroughly cleaned, and diseased or damaged tooth material is removed if necessary. Next, your dentist will apply a generous layer of composite to the treatment site. The resin is sculpted and smoothed, and any excess removed. When the ideal shape and contours have been achieved, it is hardened with a curing light. The shape is further refined with a file if needed. Lastly, it is smoothed and polished. The result looks entirely natural, as if the flaw was magically erased from your tooth.

During the procedure, the area is numbed to ensure that you remain comfortable. You dentist will carefully trim away excess gum tissue, and possibly reduce the bone if needed. The gumline is sculpted for an even smooth, symmetrical appearance. The area is then cleansed, and any incisions are closed with sutures.
There is little to no downtime. Gum tissue heals relatively quickly, at which time you will be able to resume normal daily activities. However, complete healing of all soft tissue and bone involved may take up to three months.

For cavity fillings and repairing minor damage such as chipped teeth, we use a color-matched resin material. It is extremely versatile, because it is soft when applied to teeth, then shaped, hardened, refined, and polished. When complete, it looks just like natural tooth enamel, making cavities and blemishes seemingly disappear.
Larger restorations, such as dental crowns or the replacement teeth that top implants, are made from premier quality porcelain. Although resin is durable and natural looking in small areas, it is not quite as strong as enamel, nor does it have the same translucency and luminescence. Therefore, it would not be ideal for larger applications. Porcelain, on the other hand, is remarkably similar to enamel in both strength and appearance. A well-made porcelain cap or false tooth is indistinguishable in appearance from a real tooth.
We take the customization and convenience of dental crowns to a higher level, with our CEREC CAD/CAM system. Our dentists can create a dental crown right here in our office, during your appointment. That means there is no need for temporary restorations or a follow-up to receive your permanent crown. Furthermore, the crown is designed and carved with exacting digital precision, for exceptional results. If there should happen to be any concerns with the fit or appearance of the restoration, it can easily be altered or remade before it is placed.

A smile makeover is not actually a procedure in and of itself. Instead, it is a custom-designed comprehensive treatment plan, which can include any number of procedures. For example, a smile makeover might incorporate dental crowns to repair broken teeth, implants and restorations to replace missing teeth, and porcelain veneers to beautify remaining healthy teeth.
When you visit our office for cosmetic dentistry, we start out with an oral health evaluation and aesthetic analysis, followed by an in-depth discussion. Your dentist will take time to understand exactly what you dislike about the appearance of your teeth, and what you are hoping to achieve. We will present various procedures that may accomplish your goals, explaining the pros and cons of each option. Patients are encouraged to ask questions and voice their concerns. We work with you to create a plan that meets your oral health needs, fits your budget, and results in the dazzling smile of your dreams.

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has commissioned several independent studies to explore common perceptions about smile aesthetics. Their research has shown that:
- People view someone with a nice smile as more intelligent, attractive, successful, kind, and popular.
- More than 99 percent of adults think an attractive smile is a valuable social asset.
- Three out of four Americans believe that an unattractive smile can negatively impact a person’s chance of professional success. Straightness, whiteness, sparkle, cleanliness, and the presence of missing teeth are among the first things people notice about a person’s smile.
- Stains, cavities, and gaps are among the things that most people believe can ruin the appearance of a smile.
- When asked what people would like to change about their smiles, the most common answer was to increase whiteness and brightness.
