What is CEREC?
CEREC is a process through which crowns, veneers, and other restorations are made right in the dental office. The state-of-the-art equipment in which our office has invested allows patients to bypass the dental lab and eliminate the need for multiple visits to achieve a more functional and beautiful smile. CEREC restorations are completed in about ninety minutes in our office without the need for uncomfortable impressions or temporaries.
The way that CEREC restorations are made begins with shaping the tooth or teeth to be treated. Digital scanning is then performed to capture detailed images of teeth. Scanned images are analyzed by high-tech 3D software, which designs the necessary crown, veneer, or other restoration. The process allows us to customize restorations to the precise size, shape, and color to achieve the desired result. Once the design has been perfected, it is sent to our milling device, which carves restorations out of high-quality ceramic material.
CEREC restorations are bonded to teeth for a secure, long lasting fit. Not only do these restorations restore functionality, they actually strengthen teeth to protect them from damage in the future.
