Parents seek children’s dentistry services in a fun, kid-friendly environment
Change can be difficult. Therefore, it is important for many parents to find a dental office with a fun, kid-friendly environment that their children can grow with throughout the years. As they become teenagers and even young adults, they can count on a caring and gentle dental team in Greensboro. Dr. Sona Isharani is a board certified pediatric dentist who loves seeing children and helping families maintain optimal oral health. Her husband, Dr. Steven Hatcher, also enjoys seeing patients of all ages at our practice. Children’s dentistry is among the many services our dentists offer.
Once dental appointments are scheduled, parents can rest assured we will take good care of the children. We also provide an enjoyable experience for parents. We will take the time to explain everything in an engaging manner. For example, we will “count” the teeth and possibly “take pictures” of the mouth. We strive to make each visit positive, enjoyable, and fun.
We believe in gentle dental treatment and provide sedative options to help patients relax. One of the sedatives used for patients of all ages is nitrous oxide. Before a procedure, we place a mask over the nose and administer “laughing gas.” Since the effect kicks in quickly, patients feel relaxed during procedures. The effect also wears off quickly, allowing them to be fully alert after their appointments.
Preventive oral health care practices are paramount. We recommend brushing at least twice a day and, sometimes, after every meal. We recommend dental check-ups at least twice a year. We will develop preventive care plans during these appointments.
Parents should schedule the first dental visit for their child after their first tooth erupts or by his or her first birthday. We can help parents keep their child’s mouth, teeth, and gums in excellent condition from the youngest age. After the first tooth has erupted, we recommend brushing it with a soft bristle toothbrush every day. It is important to avoid giving a baby sugary foods and beverages such as soda or candy.
